September 15, 2010- Hole in the ball

Parker has some toy balls that are made of a thick foam type material they he enjoys playing with. One of the balls has a small section out of it from where Parker bit into it when he was teething as a baby. We had asked about what had happened to the ball in the past and we told him that when he was a baby he bit the ball and put a hole in it. Usually when Parker plays with it now, he doesn't even seem to notice the hole in the ball, but he was pretty concerned about it on this day and wondered what had happened to it. He said, "Probably a little boy put a hole in this ball" (as in, he thought some other kid had done it and not himself). Then shortly after saying that, he said, "Probably my put a hole in this ball when I was just a baby." It was like he forgot at first that HE was the one who had done it, and then all of a sudden he remembered what we had told him in the past about how HE had been the one to do it when he was a baby. I am repeatedly amazed at the things Parker remembers from months, and sometimes even a whole year earlier.
