I would have LOVED to have continued staying home with Parker instead of going back to work, (especially going back to work FULL-TIME), but we really felt the Lord leading us to where we are now. By the grace of God, a child in the other full-time/full-day preschool classroom at the Child Development Lab (CDL) had her last day on the 22nd and I start tomorrow (the 25th) so the timing was perfect and Parker was able to get in! This will be very convenient because he'll just be down the hall from me! This is also nice because the building James works in is literally right next to where the CDL is. This means James can sometimes drop-off and pick-up Parker and he and I can do lunch together sometimes! It's also nice because since it's a lab school, they have an observation booth so I've been able to watch from the booth while Parker has had his visits.
Parker has had several transitional visits to the CDL but tomorrow is when he'll start being there Monday-Friday from about 8am-5pm. He looks like a midget in a land of giants when he's there!! It's a mixed age classroom so the kids range in age from 2 1/2-5 years old. Parker is the youngest one in the class, (he'll be 2 years 8 months old exactly when he starts tomorrow), and he's always been small for his age.
It's going to be quite the transition for all of us! I has an emotional mess when I picked him up to take him home after his visit on Friday. I knew it was his last visit before he'd be there full-time and that it was his last visit before I would be working full-time. I feel confident that the Lord had planned it this way and that we are following what He wants for our lives right now, it's just hard sending my baby to preschool and starting a brand new job. I'll try to do an update fairly soon on how things are going with work/preschool...but anyone who has followed this blog knows not to hold their breath, haha!
Had to include a picture of Parker's backpack! I love it!! :)
