- Parker said to me, "That baby has to stay in there for a long time doesn't it, mommy?" I said, "Yep, it does", then Parker said, "until it hatches and then 'POP!' it will come out!" He's been playing and reading so much about dinosaurs lately that I think he now thinks that all babies hatch from eggs. We had a talk about how not every animal starts out as an egg and that humans start out as babies, not eggs. :)

- Parker told us today that he would prefer a baby sister to a baby brother but didn't say why. Then we found out that he told his preschool teachers that he wanted a sister so he wouldn't have to share his dinosaurs with her. He told them he didn't think that a little girl would want to play with dinosaurs. Little does he know, his sister will be into EVERYTHING, lol!!

- Parker and I were reading a book and he saw a fireplace in the picture. He started to say that we don't have a fireplace, (because we have it blocked off because ours is extremely inefficient), and then stopped himself and said, "We have a fireplace, but it runned out of batteries." Too cute!! :)

- Two days before my ultrasound to find out the baby's sex, Parker told me he thought I was having a baby girl when I asked him if he thought it was a boy or a girl. I told him, "It might be...but it might be a boy baby too and that would be fun too!" Parker responded by saying, "OR it's a GIRL baby!" He was NOT changing his mind. :)

January 30, 2012:- At bath time tonight Parker was looking at
his toy boat and he said, "Apparently this boat has this part back here
that moves." Another example of my 3 year old's vocabulary...what 3
year old says "apparently"?
February 3, 2012:
- Parker liked a truck that had a dog mascot painted on it that we saw when we were driving. He started telling me that it wasn't a real dog. Then when I agreed and said that it was a drawing of a dog, he said it wouldn't be good to draw on a truck because that would scratch it. I agreed and told him that it was probably painted on instead of drawn. Then I said, "You're so smart, Parker. How did you get so smart?" to which Parker replied, "because I'm a man." I am NOT ready for my "baby" boy to be calling himself a man!
- I noticed that Parker had opened his closet door so I told him he needed to close it for night time. He then told me, "No I don't, because the Bible tells me so." lol!
February 10, 2012:- Parker was standing in the bathroom about to wash his hands when he all of sudden said, "I'm the president of the world! I'm King Parker!" I then said, "Okay Mr. President, wash your hands." He then said, "No mommy...you can't call me that, you can only call me Parker"...yes sir! ;)

- Ever since last Saturday when we saw a lady at the grocery store with a baby, Parker has been saying he thinks I'm going to have a boy AND a girl! Today when I asked him, if he thought there was a boy or girl baby in my tummy he said, "I'd prefer if there were 2 in there. There's a boy and a girl!" He will just not give up on the "fact" that I'm having a boy AND a girl! Thank goodness the ultrasound only showed ONE and we've heard ONE baby heartbeat!

- Yesterday Parker and I were driving and we drove past Red Lobster. Parker noticed the lobster on the sign and asked me if they had lobsters there. I told him 'yes'. Then he said, "Do they have LOTS of lobsters there?" I said 'yes' and he said, "Why?" to which I said, "because people eat them there". Parker's voice and tone got really sad sounding and he said, "Oh...people eat them? Those poor lobsters..." He's such a tenderhearted boy!

- Parker has been REALLY into dinosaurs lately! Today we were riding in the car and he told us that his dinosaurs can "change the World and save the day!"...too funny!

November 19, 2011:
- I was about to get Parker out of the car outside of a restaurant we were going to eat at when I noticed his face was dirty from the snack he had eaten. I told him we needed to clean his face before we got into the restaurant. Parker then said, "yeah, they would think my face was too dirty to eat and they'd say, 'no food for Park'!"
November 22, 2011:- Parker was talking about how he named all of his stuffed bears 'Susie' (his name for everything from stuffed animals to the name of the moon, lol). After telling me his bears were all named Susie, he said, "the other stuffed animals have other names, but I can't even discuss those names right now." His vocabulary continues to impress me! It is so funny to hear a 3 year use the word 'discuss' in a sentence. :)
November 26, 2011:- Parker was asked if he wanted to have some cheesy eggs for breakfast to which he replied, "I'm not available for cheesy eggs right now". The context of the word "available" was a bit off, but it was so funny to hear him say it.
December 1, 2011:- Parker technically became a Christian today!!!! We were driving in the car and he was talking to me about where you go when you die, asking if I would be sad when he died, etc. Long story short, we talked a lot about what it means to become a Christian and that you say a special prayer to Jesus and then you'll go to Heaven after you die and will live there with God and Jesus. Parker then said "I want to say that special prayer to become a Christian, but I don't know how." I then asked if he wanted me to say the prayer for him. He said 'yes' and I prayed it for him. By the time I went to get him out of the backseat I was a crying mess! He kept asking me why I was crying and I told him it was because I was so happy that he was a Christian and that he was going to go to Heaven when he died.
December 2, 2011:- Parker had wanted to take some of his toy cars into the library with us. I suggested that he leave them in the car so they would stay safe and we wouldn't loose them. Parker then said, "We can't take my cars into the library because they might get distracted". I love how he tries to use 'grown up' words and sometimes he uses them correctly and other times not so much. ;)
December 12, 2011:- On December 12th I found out I was pregnant. When I first mentioned it to Parker, I just asked him if he would like to have a baby brother or sister someday. He said, "No, I don't really want a brother or sister." Then I said, "Well, did you know there's a baby in mommy's tummy right now?" He then said, "There is??!! I want to see it!" (as he lifted up my shirt to see my stomach). I explained to him that it was inside my tummy and that you couldn't see it until after it was born, but that as the baby got bigger, my tummy would get bigger too.

October 5, 2011:- Parker was upstairs in James and my
bedroom when he all of a sudden said, "A big popsicle, and a little
popsicle." I was trying to figure out what he was talking about, and
then I realized he was pointing to our Papasan chair in our room and the
Papasan foot stool,, lol!
October 7, 2011:- We were riding in the car at night and Parker was looking up at the moon. He asked whether the moon was a boy or a girl. James told him that the moon wasn't really a boy OR a girl." Then he asked if Parker thought the moon was a boy or a girl. Parker said, "She's Susie...That's a girl, right?" I have no idea how he came up with the name 'Susie' for the moon or decided that the moon was a girl. I'm pretty sure we don't even know anyone named 'Susie', so it really seemed to just come out of nowhere. haha!
- Parker was talking about the moon when we were riding in the car, and then he said, "The moon and the sun are similar...they're both round!" He's been really good about making observations about things that are similar lately.
- Lately when we've been reading books to Parker, he likes to tell us whether the people in the story are boys or girls. He'll say things like "________ is a girl, because they said 'she'/'her'", or "___________ is a boy because they said, 'he'/'his'" Knowing that she/her is for a girl and he/his is for a boy can be a confusing concept for kids so I am proud of him for knowing the difference. :)
October 8, 2011:
- Parker has been talking a lot about the moon lately. He always notices it in the sky and tells us when he sees it. The other day we were riding in the car and Parker started talking about going to the moon. He said, "I think I will ride in a spaceship to the moon and I would ask the man driving the spaceship if I could catch the moon, and he would say 'yes' and then I would open the door VERY carefully so I wouldn't fall out and I would catch the moon." I love how imaginative he has been lately!
October 9, 2011:- Parker told me he wanted to come upstairs with me while I got ready for church. He came upstairs and played in the bathroom for a while, then he said, "I'll be right back, mommy...I'm just going downstairs to get a car and then I'll be right back up." He stood at the top stair turning back over his shoulder looking at me for a while before he started going down the stairs. I wasn't really sure why he was just standing there staring at me, then he said, "Okay...I was just making sure you weren't sad." He thought I was going to be sad that he was leaving me up in the bathroom by myself. He's such a caring boy.
- Parker came out of his room at night and said, "I slipped out of my room to put this toy bin out in the hall. Slipped doesn't mean that I fell, it just meant that I came out of my room." I thought it was pretty impressive that he knew that 'slipped' can mean different things depending on what context you are using it in. :)
October 15, 2011:- Parker called from his room at nap time and said, "Mommy and daddy, I need to go poop!" He then sat and pooped on the toilet for the first time!! He has been "potty" trained since about the end of August, but he had still never pooped in the toilet until today! Oh the things we get excited about as parents, lol!
October 16, 2011:- When Parker was a young toddler, 18 months/2 years, etc. he really never got into anything or was extra mischievous. He never went through a phase where he unrolled toilet paper rolls, repeatedly drew on the walls or any of those other testing type toddler behaviors. Apparently this weekend, he was trying to make up for lost time. In the course of two days this weekend, Parker managed to: pour glitter all of over guest bedroom comforter, spray his leave in conditioner on a toy ball of his, (and then claim he didn't do it even though I caught him with the leave in conditioner in his hand with his hand on the button and the ball was wet and smelled like his leave in conditioner), take his chapstick and rub it all over one of his toy cars, and pour water into a container of his. When James asked him how the water got into the container, Parker said something like, "Do you know how that happened? There was water on the floor and it just scooped itself up and got in there all by itself...can you believe it?" The water actually came from a container that had been in his bathtub the night before but it still had bubbles in it from bath time so he brought it out to the living room with him...apparently this morning after the bubbles had popped there was some water in the bottom of the container that we didn't know about. So, we not only have the mischievous behavior, we have him lying about it as well...terrific! We still love him more than ever, but the behavior was a bit much for one weekend, lol!
October 25, 2011:- We were at the grocery store and Parker wanted to use my pen. I told him that I was using it right now, but he could use it when I was done. He then said, "Mommy, you're being ridiculous by not sharing with me!" When we got home, I told James what Parker had said, because I thought it was really funny that he told me I was being "ridiculous". Parker heard me telling James and he said, "God will come help you share, mommy. Dear God, please come and help mommy share, amen." It was the funniest, sweetest thing! Oh, and I DID share the pen with him when I was done using it and we were checking out. :)
October 26, 2011:- Parker sometimes really gets into what's going on in the movies he watches. On this day, he was watching Veggie Tales: An Easter Carol. There is a part where Mr. Nezzer talks about wanting to tear down the church. Parker was watching and I could hear him say, "Don't tear down the church, Mr. Nezzer!!" His tone sounded very concerned and he was very adamant that Mr. Nezzer not tear down the church...too cute!
October 29, 2011:- Parker made a water bottle with colored water and oil in it at preschool today. Parker pointed out to me that the oil was floating on top of the water. I then asked him why he thought the oil floated on top of the water like that. He then said, "I don't know, mommy. Probably just because a teacher told me that." So apparently the teacher he had made the bottle with had talked with them about why the oil floated on top, but Parker couldn't remember why.
October 31, 2011:
- I had Parker's laundry basked sitting in the living room with his clean clothes folded in it. He looked at the basket and said, "Oh no mommy, not again! This is broken! Look at the holes in it!" He thought the holes in the side of the basket meant it was broken. Too cute! :)

August 2, 2011:- Parker said he wanted to wear underwear
tonight not a diaper! He sat on the toilet twice and then went to bed
in underwear that night! :) This was the first time he really wanted to
wear underwear. :)
August 6, 2011:- I was on a walk with Parker and noticed that we were about to walk in an area where the sun was going to be right in his eyes. His stroller has a great sun visor on it, so I put it down to block the sun from getting in his eyes. Parker then said to me, "Oh thank you for putting the sun visor down mommy...I really appreciate it." Such a sweet and polite boy! :)
- Parker quickly made progress once we switched him from a diaper to underwear! Today he told me he needed to go potty, tried but nothing came out and he said he was done trying. Then very shortly after that, he told me again that he needed to go potty but nothing came out when he sat to try. He did this one or two more times, and then on the last time, he went in the toilet! He also didn't have any accidents the entire day...and this was only his 4th day in underwear!! :)
August 11, 2011:- Parker has several stuffed animals that he sleeps with. One of them is a bunny that he got from his Grammy Stowe. He randomly told us one day that her name was "baby bunny". It was funny because prior to this, he didn't name any of this stuffed animals. Anyway, on this day he said, "baby bunny isn't a baby anymore...she's a big girl now!" I then said, "Oh...how old is she now?" and Parker said, "She's 3". I just thought it was funny. :)
- We were driving through a very rural area of Kansas with Parker. He wasn't used to driving in areas that are basically all farms and fields. He very excitedly said from the backseat, "I saw a real goat eating his hay!" Then a little bit later we hear him say, "Oh! Other real animals eating hay!" Then later still he said, "I guess we're just gonna see grass and hay..." I didn't really think of him as a city boy until he was so excited and surprised to see "real" animals "eating hay", lol! :)
August 20, 2011:- Last winter we bought Parker some chap stick of his own because I was tired of him licking mine (gross!). He was putting some on his lips when he said, "I like using these lip chops, mommy!" Close...but not quite what they're called kiddo!
August 23, 2011:- We were playing outside and Parker saw a bug, he said, "A bug!!! I love you, bug!!" He then proceeded to give the bug a "flower" (clover) he had picked just for it.
August 24, 2011:- Parker really likes to sing. The other day he was singing his version of the Veggie Tales song, "God is bigger than the Boogie Man". He sang, "Oh, God is bigger than the lion's den. He's bigger than Goliath or the monsters on TV..." The actual way it goes is, "God is bigger than the boogie man. He's bigger than Godzilla or the monsters on TV..." I thought it was funny that he was combining different Bible characters/stories so it actually still worked in the song even though he wasn't singing the right words. :)
August 27, 2011:
- Me to P: "I'm going to make a phone call, so please play quietly"
P to me: "I doubt it!"...at least he was honest, haha!
- Parker has also been telling James and I that he's going to "throw [us] in the lion's den", when we say or do something that he doesn't like...like asking him to stop doing something he's not supposed to be doing. I'm glad he's picking up on his Bible stories...I'm even more glad that I have God on my side for when he "throws me in the lion's den", lol!
September 15, 2011:
- My grandmother passed away a little over a month ago. We went to the funeral and it was the first time Parker had ever been to a funeral before. He saw my grandma in the casket and asked a lot of questions about it. We explained that just her body was there and her soul was in Heaven with God and Jesus. We were driving in the car and Parker said, "Is Great Grandma still in Heaven?" I told him 'yes', and I said " Great Grandma is really happy right now, do you know why?" Parker said, "why" and I said, "because she's in Heaven with God and Jesus!" Parker then said, "God and Jesus are really happy to see her too! I bet they're asking her what her name is. When we go to Heaven someday, we can see her again." I love that he is picking up on these things! He's such a sweet kid! :)
September 30, 2011: - Parker has been watching "Finding Nemo" a lot lately. Today when he was watching it, I overheard him saying, "Don't worry, Nemo. You're dad loves you!" He's so concerned about others' feelings...too sweet!

Parker then said to me, "Oh thank you for putting the sun visor down mommy...I really appreciate it." Such a sweet and polite boy! :)
- Parker quickly made progress once we switched him from a diaper to underwear! Today he told me he needed to go potty, tried but nothing came out and he said he was done trying. Then very shortly after that, he told me again that he needed to go potty but nothing came out when he sat to try. He did this one or two more times, and then on the last time, he went in the toilet! He also didn't have any accidents the entire day...and this was only his 4th day in underwear!! :)
August 11, 2011:- Parker has several stuffed animals that he sleeps with. One of them is a bunny that he got from his Grammy Stowe. He randomly told us one day that her name was "baby bunny". It was funny because prior to this, he didn't name any of this stuffed animals. Anyway, on this day he said, "baby bunny isn't a baby anymore...she's a big girl now!" I then said, "Oh...how old is she now?" and Parker said, "She's 3". I just thought it was funny. :)
- We were driving through a very rural area of Kansas with Parker. He wasn't used to driving in areas that are basically all farms and fields. He very excitedly said from the backseat, "I saw a real goat eating his hay!" Then a little bit later we hear him say, "Oh! Other real animals eating hay!" Then later still he said, "I guess we're just gonna see grass and hay..." I didn't really think of him as a city boy until he was so excited and surprised to see "real" animals "eating hay", lol! :)
August 20, 2011:- Last winter we bought Parker some chap stick of his own because I was tired of him licking mine (gross!). He was putting some on his lips when he said, "I like using these lip chops, mommy!" Close...but not quite what they're called kiddo!
August 23, 2011:- We were playing outside and Parker saw a bug, he said, "A bug!!! I love you, bug!!" He then proceeded to give the bug a "flower" (clover) he had picked just for it.
August 24, 2011:- Parker really likes to sing. The other day he was singing his version of the Veggie Tales song, "God is bigger than the Boogie Man". He sang, "Oh, God is bigger than the lion's den. He's bigger than Goliath or the monsters on TV..." The actual way it goes is, "God is bigger than the boogie man. He's bigger than Godzilla or the monsters on TV..." I thought it was funny that he was combining different Bible characters/stories so it actually still worked in the song even though he wasn't singing the right words. :)

- Me to P: "I'm going to make a phone call, so please play quietly"
P to me: "I doubt it!"...at least he was honest, haha!
- Parker has also been telling James and I that he's going to "throw [us] in the lion's den", when we say or do something that he doesn't like...like asking him to stop doing something he's not supposed to be doing. I'm glad he's picking up on his Bible stories...I'm even more glad that I have God on my side for when he "throws me in the lion's den", lol!
September 15, 2011:
- My grandmother passed away a little over a month ago. We went to the funeral and it was the first time Parker had ever been to a funeral before. He saw my grandma in the casket and asked a lot of questions about it. We explained that just her body was there and her soul was in Heaven with God and Jesus. We were driving in the car and Parker said, "Is Great Grandma still in Heaven?" I told him 'yes', and I said " Great Grandma is really happy right now, do you know why?" Parker said, "why" and I said, "because she's in Heaven with God and Jesus!" Parker then said, "God and Jesus are really happy to see her too! I bet they're asking her what her name is. When we go to Heaven someday, we can see her again." I love that he is picking up on these things! He's such a sweet kid! :)
September 30, 2011: - Parker has been watching "Finding Nemo" a lot lately. Today when he was watching it, I overheard him saying, "Don't worry, Nemo. You're dad loves you!" He's so concerned about others' feelings...too sweet!

July 4, 2011:-
We took Parker to see Cars 2 today! It was his first movie in the
movie theater and he did AWESOME!! Near the end of the movie, he
started clapping and said, "I guess that's the end!!" (in a real loud,
enthusiastic voice). Then as the ending credits were going, he turned
over his shoulder to the full theater of people behind us and said,
"That's the end everybody!!" in his same loud, enthusiastic voice. I
was cracking up at my cute, sweet, boy!
July 10, 2011:- Parker's vocabulary is very advanced for his age. There are times, however, when he says a word and it's obvious he somewhat knows what it means, but doesn't quite know how to use it appropriately yet. Today he said, "I'm very nervous because I need a car clock." He had been wanting a clock for his room and I told him we could look and see if we could find a "car" clock to match the car theme in his room. He noticed it had been a while and we still hadn't found one, so he said he was nervous about it. It almost works, but not quite...
July 14, 2011:- One of Parker's student teachers came to me on the playground and told me the conversation she had with Parker today...
P to St. teacher: "I need a pet. I want a birdie."
St. Teach. to P: "Are you going to ask your mommy for one?"
P to St. Teach.: "Oh no...probably I will ask daddy...he'll say 'yes'"
I laugh about this one every time I'm reminded of it...too funny!
- P to me: "Mommy, I have to ask you a question. It's very, very, very important."
me to P: "What is it Parker?"
P to me: "Can you tickle me?"
Apparently this is what a "very, very, very important question looks like when you're 3 years old...
July 25, 2011:- Parker and I were walking into the library when P said, "look at that yellow car, mommy...it's a Chevrolet." Sure enough, it was a Chevy Corvette. I asked him how he knew that and he said, "because it has those red lights". James later informed me that Parker knows the style/shape of the corvette lights and can tell if a car is a corvette simply by looking at the lights. He knows SO much about cars...it's really incredible!
- When we were leaving the library, there was a car parked across from us that had 2 silver sun shades/visors in the windows to help block out the sun. P looked at the car, gasped out loud and then loudly said, "Its air bags deployed!!!" Love it! :)

He talks to them, pretends they are talking to him and each other, he even calls them his brothers and sisters, lol! Parker had this conversation with one of his cars, "I can come to your house and play all day because I don't have to go home. Oh that's nice said the car, but are you going to leave because I'll be very sad if you leave. Oh no, I'm not going to leave said the car...good." I think it's funny that he plays with cars so often, but he still manages to get some make believe play in as he pretends his cars are saying/doing different things...

May 4, 2011:- I was driving Parker to preschool when he said,
"I see a soda pop truck, mommy...it has soda pop in it!" I looked over
and there parked in the parking lot of a gas station was a Pepsi
truck. Apparently he has learned to recognize the Pepsi symbol from my
cans of pop (what does that say about how much pop I drink, lol) Then
when we parked the car for me to take him into preschool, we parked
right next to one of the CDL's (child development lab) vans. Parker
asked me what kind of "truck" it was. I told him it was the CDL van.
He then said, "Yeah...That's the CDL van...it has CDLs in it". At least
he had the general idea right, lol!
May 25, 2011: - Parker heard thunder outside and said to me, "Monkey's (referring to a toy monkey he has) not scared of thunder" I then said to him, "Oh, he's not?" Parker then said, "no". Then he turned to his toy monkey and said, "Are you scared of thunder, monkey? I'm not scared of thunder monkey said". He then turned back to me and said, "He's not scared, mommy."
June 11, 2011:- I was getting ready for work when Parker came in and said, "come look at my huge collision, mommy! Lots and lots and lots of cars crashed!" I then said to him, "oh no...are they okay?" P then said, "Yes, they're okay...they were wearing their seat belts." :)
June 19, 2011:
- Parker had recently become good friends with a girl in his class named, Ava. They were inseparable! Parker would always want to hold Ava's hand on the way out to the playground (and vice versa), and they were always playing together! We were visiting my parents and I was laying next to Parker on the bed because he was having a hard time falling asleep since we were in a house he wasn't used to. He started talking to me and said, "Ava can sleep in this bed with me. Someday in the future, Ava can come to my house and sleep in this bed with me" Hearing my 3 year old talking about sleeping with a girl in the same bed made my heart just about stop! I was not ready for him to say such a grown up thing. I just told him that if he and Ava get married some day when they are much, much, MUCH older, then they could sleep in that bed together, lol!
June 20, 2011:- Parker told me, "I wish tomorrow was a preschool day so I could have fun with Ava (his best friend at the time from school) all day!"
June 22, 2011:- gross Parker quote..."Sometimes I dig in my nose...I look for treasures up there." I'm not sure who asked him if he was looking for treasures at one point when he was picking his nose, but it certainly wasn't me! I was totally grossed out by this statement...although others found it quite amusing...
June 28, 2011:
- There are lots of trees on the playground where Parker goes to preschool. One of them drops TONS of what I have heard referred to as "gumballs". Parker was on a huge kick of collecting them as he played on the playground. Today, Parker and I were walking out to the garage to leave for preschool when he said very enthusiastically, "Those green gumballs are waitin' for me!" It was too cute!

April 9, 2011:- MU's Vet Med School had their open house
today. We decided to take Parker because we figured he'd like to see
the animals. On the way there we were talking with him about what kind
of animals he thought he would see there. He said, "We might see a dog
and a kitty and some sheep might say 'baa, baa, black sheep" lol!
April 13, 2011:- I was talking with Parker about how his Uncle Matt and Aunt Kara had had their baby and that their baby was his new cousin! I told Parker that he was just a tiny baby right now. Parker then said, "When he's older he will play with me. He will play cars with me and other things with me! He will share cars with me, too!" Can you tell what Parker LOVES to play with, lol!
April 16, 2011:- Little girls have dolls that "talk" and "play" together...Parker has cars that "talk" and "play" together. He was playing with his cars when he pulled one of the cars up to another and said, "Oh hi friend! I had a dream about you! What kind of dream was it said the car? Was it a mad dream? Oh no...it was just a silly dream said the car" I think it's too funny that he says
"said the car". It's like he's telling a story or something. He does this any time he is pretending that something is saying something.
April 23, 2011:- Parker went through a phase where he was terrified of shadows in his room at night. One Saturday morning, James got up when Parker did and I stayed in bed to sleep longer. Parker saw me sleeping and said, "If you hear a shadow coming in through the front door, I will shine my flashlight on it and it will go away, and you don't need to worry because Jesus will protect you" Do I not have the sweetest kid in the World??!! We spent a LOT of time talking with Parker about the shadows in his room, trying anything and everything so that he wouldn't be afraid of them anymore. One thing that we did was give him a flashlight and remind him that Jesus was always there to protect him when he was scared. I love that he listened and was so concerned about me! He is the best kid ever!!!
April 25, 2011:- (1 day after Easter) Parker and I were talking about the stormy weather we had been having. Parker said, "sometimes I'm scared of storms" I told him, "We don't need to be afraid of storms, because who protects us?" Parker said, "Jesus and God...and they rose from the dead!" I'm happy to hear that Parker was listening the day before when it was Easter! Sure he didn't quite have all the facts right, but at least he knew that Jesus rose from the dead. For a 3 year old, that will work. :)
April 26, 2011:- Parker's prayer tonight before bed: "Thank you Jesus for my cousin Elsie and for no bad dreams tonight and thank you for praying for my piggy bank, amen." I think he had recently played with his cousin, Elsie, he knows that James and I pray for him to not have any bad dreams (because I still remember my parents doing that for me and feeling like I NEEDED them to do it), and then he probably just saw his piggy bank on his dresser while he was praying and thought, "What the heck...I'll pray for that, too!" lol!

March 1, 2011:- Parker was sitting near me, staring at his
finger. When I asked him what he was doing, he said, "Oh, let's not
worry about that booger right now...It was on my finger but I rubbed it
off." pretty sure I don't want to know WHERE he chose to "rub it off",
but at least he was honest...
March 2, 2011:- It was around this time that Parker started really talking about Spiderman and Batman and saying how they were the best, etc. He has still to this day (september 2011), never even seen either Spiderman or Batman, yet he hears all about them at preschool so he thinks he knows a lot about them. We don't want him growing up thinking that these "superheros" are the best (mainly since they typically use violence as a way to "win"), so I asked Parker if he knew who was even bigger and better than either Spiderman or Batman. He said, "Jesus!" I told him he was right and that God and Jesus were the biggest and best. He then said, "and Jesus protects Spiderman and Batman!" I love that he is starting to understand things like Jesus protecting people! :)
March 7, 2011:- Parker will frequently recite segments from various books of his. One of the cutest was today when he sat and read "5 Little Monkeys with Nothing to do". I got some of this on video but not all of it because I knew if he saw me, he would quit reading and/or tell me to turn off the camera.
March 8, 2011:- Probably within the last week or two, Parker has been calling his stuffed animals that he sleeps with at night his "brothers". He would round them up in the morning and say, "These sleeping friends are my brothers, mommy." I have no idea where he came up with it but it's pretty funny!
March 12, 2011:- Parker and I were just sitting in the office when Parker started getting really silly and said, "I'm going to color on your wall!" I talked with him about how we only color on paper and would never color on the wall. Parker then said, "Yes I can...look" (as he pointed to a place on the wall where there were obviously crayon marks)_I then asked Parker who had done that, Parker said, "Probably a baby did that" I said, "Parker, no babies live here." Parker then said, "Oh, probably I did that." When I told James this story later, he said that Parker had confessed to him earlier in the week and had said that "baby Robbie" (a friend of mine has a baby named Robbie) had been the one to color on the wall. At least he was consistent with his lie...I hope this doesn't mean trouble for the future...
March 14, 2011:- I was changing Parker's diaper at nap time when he said to me, "Jesus loves you, mommy...Jesus loves daddy, too!" I then said to him, "Does Jesus love Parker, too?" Parker then said, "Oh yes, mommy...Jesus loves all the children. Jesus and God live in Heaven, far far away."
March 25, 2011:- Parker and I went to dinner with a friend of mine and her baby Robbie (6 months old at the time). Robbie was sitting in his car seat under the table. Parker kept peeking at him under the table saying "hi" while waving to him. Parker probably did this 20 times in a row. When Robbie didn't answer (because he was 6 months old), Parker said, "I guess he doesn't have any questions..." Too funny!

He went again at school on the potty 2 days later and a third time the following day! I was very excited when this first happened, thinking it meant that potty training was eminent...little did I know that shortly after this, he would totally regress and not be interested. It wasn't a huge deal because then about 5 months later with very minimal effort, he ended up being potty trained.

January 3, 2011 - February 18, 2011
January 3, 2011: - We were driving by a business that has a
large light-up star on a very tall evergreen tree during the holiday
season and I started asking Parker if he remembered why sometimes people
use a star to decorate at Christmas time. I mentioned to him about how
long ago when Jesus was born, the wise men followed the light from a
star to find where baby Jesus was. Parker looked at the star on the
tree and said, "but I don't know where baby Jesus is? Is he somewhere
else?" I think he thought that since he saw the star, that must be
where Jesus was. We then had a talk about how Jesus was in Heaven and
even though we can't see him, he is always with us.
February 16, 2011:- I was drying my hair and Parker all of a sudden came into the bathroom and looked at me like he had something he needed to tell me. I turned off the hair dryer and he said, "Do you remember that spiders are arachnids, mommy?" This was at the same time that we had a bug book that we had checked out from the library that had all sorts of facts about bugs. Parker likes to keep me well educated about various bugs.
- I opened the garage door to back out and when Parker saw the pretty clouds and how sunny it was, he said, "Oh! It's a beautiful day!" It sounds like a really basic comment but there's something about hearing a 2 year old say it that is just too sweet!
February 17, 2011:- One day when I asked Parker to clean up his cars he had out if he wanted to get more out, he said "but I'm just really little" You can guess how well THAT excuse went over...
February 18, 2011: - Parker likes to look out his blinds in the morning to see what the sky looks like. On this particular morning, Parker woke up and came into the bathroom where I was fixing my hair and the first thing he said was "goodness, gracious, lots of clouds!" Hearing a 2 year old say, "goodness gracious" is pretty darn cute! :)
February 16, 2011:- I was drying my hair and Parker all of a sudden came into the bathroom and looked at me like he had something he needed to tell me. I turned off the hair dryer and he said, "Do you remember that spiders are arachnids, mommy?" This was at the same time that we had a bug book that we had checked out from the library that had all sorts of facts about bugs. Parker likes to keep me well educated about various bugs.
- I opened the garage door to back out and when Parker saw the pretty clouds and how sunny it was, he said, "Oh! It's a beautiful day!" It sounds like a really basic comment but there's something about hearing a 2 year old say it that is just too sweet!
February 17, 2011:- One day when I asked Parker to clean up his cars he had out if he wanted to get more out, he said "but I'm just really little" You can guess how well THAT excuse went over...

October 27, 2010:
- Parker to me as he was playing, "Later you will have a cupcake, but you have to eat a healthy lunch first" [I wonder where he could have heard something like that ;)]
- P to me when he saw me using my flat iron on my hair: "A duck is cutting your hair, mommy!"
November 13, 2010:
- Parker saw me putting eye shadow on one morning and asked me what it was I was putting on my eyes. I told him it was a type of makeup called 'eye shadow'. This happened to be during a phase he went through where he was afraid of shadows. He then told me, "I have shadows in my room, too!"
December 2, 2010:
- Driving in the car, Parker all of a sudden said: "Is the sky real?" pretty deep question for a 2 year old...
December 27, 2010:- We were eating in Manhattan at Carlos O' Kelly's and Parker wanted to get out of his high chair. We told him that he could get out if he sat in someone's lap. He then started looking at random people in the restaurant saying "Can I sit in your lap?" When we explained to him that we don't sit with strangers and that he could sit either with James, myself, my mom or my dad, he started saying to the strangers, "I'm Parker, can I sit in your lap?" I guess he thought and introduction was enough for them to no longer be a stranger and he could sit in their laps, lol!
December 29, 2010:- After Parker spent several days playing with his cousin, Elsie over Christmas break, he came home and said, "When I grow up, I want to be a princess!" At least he was only 2 and has plenty of time to change his mind about what he wants to be when he grows up. :oP

Good Intentions...AWFUL blogger!!
Well, I am officially, without a doubt, the WORST blogger EVER!! It's been over a year since my last blog post...pathetic! Going back to work full-time outside the home has proven to be more of a challenge to keeping up with tasks like this than I initially thought it would. I have still been keeping track of cute stories/things Parker has been doing, (He's FOUR YEARS OLD now by the way!), but I just don't have the time/energy to create a blog post about it. By the end of the day, I am SOO done that blogging is just not something I feel like doing. My intention is to slowly update with past Parker stories to try to get people caught up on the past 1 year and 4 months of our lives. We'll see how well that ends up working out. At least my intention is good, right?
