"My cheek hurts!"
The other day after Parker had been asleep for about an hour, he all of a sudden woke up crying. Lately when this happens, it's been because he's had a bad dream (or at least we think that's what's been happening). When this happens, I rock with him for a few minutes and then he goes back to sleep without a problem. On this night however, I rocked him and did our normal routine for when he wakes up sad (which is VERY rare) and instead of going back to sleep, he sat quietly in his room for about a minute and then started crying again. I went BACK into his room and we did the routine over again and once again the crying started again after only being out of his room for a couple of minutes. When I went into his room for the third time, I first asked him if he had had a bad dream and was scared to go back to sleep or if it was something else. He sweetly responded that it was "someteen else". I then asked him if something hurt and if he could either tell, or point to what was hurting. He then said, "my cheek hurts, mommy!" (while pointing to his cheek). Before I even asked him about something hurting I had wondered if his 2 year molars were bothering him because I had noticed a few days ago that one of the top ones was really close to the gum line but not yet through. I didn't want to just ask him if his teeth hurt because, well, he's 2 and if you ASK him if something hurts, he'll almost always say, "uh huh", whether it actually hurts or not. I'm pretty sure his molars were bothering him because shortly after a dose of Tylenol he was out! It's so funny hearing how kids explain things...

How cute!!! He is so sweet, I loved his explanation :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Tylie! I thought it was pretty sweet too, but then again I am his mom so I pretty much think everything he does is sweet... :)
