FINALLY WALKING!!!

Well we've been anxiously waiting for the day to finally arrive that Parker would decide to quit dragging his heels already (literally) and walk and it's finally here!! He has been SOOO close for SOOO long now but today it seemed we could officially say that he is walking! Before today, he would walk between James and I and he would just giggle and giggle...it was like he thought walking was a game rather than a mode of transportation. Today as I was unpacking one of his boxes in the playroom, I turned around to find him walking over to the window to look at a bird he saw. Then later in the day, there were several occasions where he would choose to walk somewhere instead of crawl. I think he definitely walked more today than he did crawl and it wasn't like he was just walking in between people like before but he would actually choose to walk to get a toy or even just walk for the sake of walking! So 15 months and 21 days later and he's finally walking! I took a video of him walking today but I'll have to wait until James has his computer hooked up here to upload it.

I also wanted to share some new words/cute things that Parker has been doing lately. He now says the word "hot" both when he sees me blowing on his food to cool it down and when he sees grandma and grandpa Stowe's fireplace. They have a gas fireplace and since we will have one too when we move to Columbia we have started telling him it is hot and that it's danger (even though clearly it isn't hot during the Summer since it isn't on). We figure it's better to just teach him that it's off limits instead of trying to explain that sometimes it's hot and sometimes it's not (at least for now). His language in general is also getting more clear. Now when he says wet because his diaper is wet, he really says "weT" instead of "weh" like he used to! :) He also said "yes" the other day, as clear as could be instead of saying his usual "yah". He has been getting better at saying family members' names as well and still repeats MANY things after we say them! :) Anyway, I think James got his computer up and running now so hopefully I can get that video posted and loaded either this evening or sometime tomorrow! :)

  1. Yeah :)
Now you are going to have your hands full (not that they weren't full already, haha). Good luck keeping up with him.

I can't wait to see the video!

  2. Thanks Kristin! Unfortunately he was SOO fast at crawling that I was already having a hard time keeping up with him! I'm actually loading the video right now so it should be up soon! :)
