I started typing the following in my Facebook status but it was too long so I decided to just put the blog link and hopefully have people help me out with this question here instead...
-a question for my mommy friends out there...When your kids were teething, did they ever either A) get a fever or B) get a SUPER runny nose?? Parker has had a runny nose the past few days (which I thought was just a minor cold), then Fri night he woke up in the night was a slight fever (100.7) but that's the highest the fever has gotten. The runny nose however was REALLY bad today after he woke up from his nap and the fever is back up when it had previously been down. The nose seems too runny to just be teething but all he's missing are his 2 year molars and I've heard it can be rough on them when they're getting those in. He goes for his 2 year check-up tomorrow so we'll see what the pediatrician says then but if anyone has experience with something like this happening to their little one I'd appreciate hearing about it...thanks!
I really would appreciate any input anyone has regarding this. Just click where it says "__Comments" to leave your response...thanks in advance to anyone willing/able to help me out with this!! :)

Hi there,
ReplyDeleteMy son has a hard time with teething. Just this past weekend he spiked a fever of 105.2 on Friday afternoon. It was down to 100.2 by bedtime. Saturday the highest it got was 102.2. Sunday, the highest was 100.9. He is 15 months old and everytime he's about to cut teeth, he gets these extreme fevers. He also has had a very drippy nose for a while. It was a cold for a while, but then on Friday I noticed the consistency changed, it appeared more gel-like. Today, his temp is back to normal but I do expect it to bump to 100 this afternoon. He's also been pulling on his ears so I'm taking him in to see the on-call sick doctor to have his ears looked at.
I hope this helps in some way.
WOW...that's a super high fever! My son has only had one ear infection but that sounds similar to how his ended up playing out. Will you let me know on here what the doctor says? Thanks and hope he feels better soon!
ReplyDeleteRecently got back from Parker's check-up and his pediatrician thinks it's a cold. She said his ears looked good and his chest sounded good.
